In the Gulf, fragrance is not applied — it is composed, layer by layer, every morning.
- Bakhoor. Fragrant wood chips are smouldered in a mabkhara and the smoke is wafted through hair and clothing.
- Attar. A rich oil — often oud or rose — is applied to the pulse points.
- Perfume. A spray chosen to complement the attar is misted over the top.
Combinations to try
- Oud al-Layl attar + Rose Sahar perfume — dark and romantic.
- Musk Noor attar + Amber Sultan perfume — soft, golden, glowing.
- Mitti attar + Sandal Sufi perfume — earthy, calm and grounding.
Start with two layers, then experiment. There are no rules — only signatures.
